The problem
The useful prompt is rarely the one someone remembers word for word. It is usually buried in a previous chat, a notes application, or a document that must be found and copied before the actual work can begin.
Powered Prompts removes that repeated search-and-paste loop without asking users to move their work into another platform.
Work where the conversation already happens
The extension sits alongside supported AI chat interfaces. A configurable shortcut opens a command palette, the user searches the local prompt library, and the selected prompt can be inserted or copied without leaving the current page.
Prompts can also be captured from selected text through the browser’s context menu. Folders, favorites, search, and site-specific visibility keep a larger library manageable.
Reusable, not rigid
Placeholders such as %%product%% turn a saved prompt into a reusable template. Powered Prompts asks for each value before insertion and can remember previous inputs for recurring workflows.
The extension also provides:

Privacy approach
Prompt content is stored through Chrome’s local extension storage. There is no account, application server, cloud prompt library, analytics, or telemetry.
By default, host access is limited to supported AI services. Universal Mode can extend insertion to other websites, but broader permission is requested only when the user chooses to enable it. This makes privacy and permission scope part of the product design rather than a policy added later.
Typical workflows
The library can hold product-requirement outlines, UX audit checklists, bug-triage templates, code-review instructions, SEO briefs, meeting summaries, support replies, or any other prompt that is useful more than once.
Current status
Powered Prompts is published in the Chrome Web Store and supports ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Poe, Straico, and other Chromium-browser workflows. The extension remains an active product; this page deliberately focuses on its workflow and privacy model rather than early adoption numbers.
