HTC Desire Review – Part 6 – Camera

HTC Desire exceeds the camera power from it’s previous models. A 5MP snapper on HTC Desire turns any mobile photographer into a pinch happy snappy person in no time. Having said that, you should not expect the camera to compete with models like Sony Xperia X10, Sony Satio or LG Viewty Smart. But the 5MP is definitely a good choice when you need a mobile camera. With the advantage of Android 2.1, HTC Desire brings a camera interface that is quite competitive outside the Google OS world.

There are a number of customizable settings available such as ISO speed, aspect ratio, auto focus, face detection, geo-tagging, flicker adjustment, white balance and metering mode. Smile detection like Sony Xperia X10 is not yet there but surely the gap is getting closer. A secondary camera is definitely one of the most wanted missing feature for this line of Smartphones.

HTC Desire Review – Part 5 – Multimedia

We’ve taken a look at the “Telephony” features on my last topic and I am moving here on to the Multimedia Experience of HTC Desire. HTC’s Multimedia Experience is getting better but not just there yet. It is definitely a great upgrade from HTC Legend though. Sound quality has been improved with Dolby for mobile devices. I’ve tested it with Sennheiser CX200 series headphones and the sound quality is above average with a good response on Rich Bass and Mid Range. I’ve divided this part into photos, audio, video and other categories. Now lets get down to it. There is also a Youtube video at the end of this post.

HTC Desire Review – Part 4 – Telephony

After all the gimmicks of Hardware power, I came on to the HTC Desire Telephony section. Typically Telephony supposed to be simpler such as – Browse contacts, dial, talk and then hang up. But HTC Desire bring it to a whole new level of Telephony combining the power of social networking and information management. I’m trying to keep this post as short as possible. But then we’re going to talk about a bit more of Contacts, Call quality, Messaging and few other components. Lets take a wider look into these.
