I did do that, USB audio devices don't have their own driver, they use the Operating System default driver called “USB Audio Device” though. No USB mic actually has drivers, and the Windows Upgrade Adviser doesn't actually account for USB devices, only internal system components. It didn't mention anything about my printer being incompatible and there is no printer driver for 64bit OS in my case.

I also think it is a driver issue.. I found out the best way to know about it earlier is to use the tool no 10 in this post.. it really gives a detail report on both 32 and 64 bit driver incompatibility ..

The mic bass boost is disabled, I can mute the mic, but then I can't record at all. Something really funny with 64bit Windows 7 and the USB codec, I don't know if is my Motherboard not handling a 64bit OS well, or if its Windows 7. It didn't happen on Windows Vista 32bit. I tried every bit of leveling the meters I can, and I also removed all performance and visual effects of Windows 7 to see if it was performance related feedback. Definably a driver Issue I think.

Why don't you mute the mic or check on the control panel if u can disable the mic gain.

I really need to find away to reduce the background noise on my USB mic on Windows 7, that wasn't there on VISTA 32 bit. Something to do with the USB Audio Codec I think.
