How to mount ISO files in Windows Vista

MagicDisk01There are several problems I've found while mounting .ISO/.IMG/.BIN etc CD/DVD image files in windows vista. Well know Daemon Tools claims to be working on windows vista 32 bit and 64 bit versions but it's not entirely correct because some of the CD/DVD image files appear to be corrupted after loading. Also it is risky to install daemon tools now because they are installing few search bar tools. Alternatively I've tried out SlySoft's Virtual Clone Drive, which also have the similar problems, it can mount the images but some of the files appears to be corrupted. At last I've Installed MagicISO Virtual CD/DVD-ROM(MagicDisc), a freeware multiple CD/DVD emulation utility and it worked on all the CD/DVD Images I've tried on. I didn't try PowerISO or UltraISO yet.

Supported CD/DVD image files in MagicDisc:

  • BIN (CDRWin)
  • IMA/IMG (Generic disk images)
  • CIF (Easy CD Creator)
  • NRG (Nero - Burning ROM)
  • IMG/CCD (CloneCD)
  • MDF/MDS (Fantom CD)
  • VCD (Farstone Virtual Drive)
  • VaporCD (Noum Vapor CDROM)
  • P01/MD1/XA (Gear)
  • VC4/000 (Virtual CD)
  • VDI (Virtuo CD Manager)
  • C2D (WinOnCD)
  • BWI/BWT (BlinkWrite)
  • CDI (DiscJuggler)
  • TAO/DAO (Duplicator)
  • PDI (Instant Copy)
  • MagicDisc Download for Windows 9x/Me/2000/XP/2003/Vista
