Use Google Calendar as Your SMS TEXT Reminder Service

googlecalendar

Google calendar is now available for your phone. It's easy to keep track of your events in Google calendar. Have you tried it yet? You can keep multiple layers of calendars. Add your friends birthdays, anniversaries, events and get notified at your phone. The reminders will be send to you as a SMS TEXT messages. I personally found it more meaninful because e-mail reminders can't remind you because most of us doesn't use e-mail 24/7. Setting it up is fairly simple. Of course you will need to have a google account to use the popular services like gmail, picasa, gtalk, google documents and so on. Once you login to your Google calendar account just goto settings and setup your mobile phone number. It requires you to verify your number by inserting a verification code. Look at the images below.

So you can have free SMS Text reminders for all your events.

How we Thank our Mother

mother & child
This is how most of us thank? our mother!
  • When you came into the world, she held you in her arms.    You thanked her by wailing like a banshee.
  • When you were 1 year old, she fed you and bathed you.   You thanked her by crying all night long.
  • When you were 2 years old, she taught you to walk.   You thanked her by running away when she called.
  • When you were 3 years old, she made all your meals with love.   You thanked her by tossing your plate on the floor.
  • When you were 4 years old, she gave you some crayons.   You thanked her by coloring the dining room table.
  • When you were 5 years old, she dressed you for the holidays.   You thanked her by plopping into the nearest pile of mud.
  • When you were 6 years old, she walked you to school.   You thanked her by screaming, "I'M NOT GOING!"
  • When you were 7 years old, she bought you a baseball.   You thanked her by throwing it through the  next-door-neighbor' s window.
  • When you were 8 years old, she handed you an ice cream.   You thanked her by dripping it all over your lap.
  • When you were 9 years old, she paid for music lessons.  You thanked her by never even bothering to practice.
  • When you were 10 years old, she drove you all day, from  soccer to gymnastics to one birthday party after another.
  • You thanked her by jumping out of the car and never looking back.
  • When you were 11 years old, she took you and your friends to the movies.
You thanked her by asking to sit in a different row.
  • When you were 12 years old, she warned you not to watch certain TV shows.
  • You thanked her by waiting until she left the house.

Life is Moving on the fast lane. I'm happy, a bit worried, a bit scared and a bit curious of all the upcoming changes. Life is not a destiny, it's a journey. There will be ups and downs in life as usual but the fun part is to enjoy it and live it accordingly. Thanks to visulogik for the excellent photo. Here are some important quotes to remember:

  • "Life must be understood backwards; but… it must be lived forward."- Soren Kierkegaard
  • "There is only one success - to be able to spend your life in your own way." - Christopher Morley
  • I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody." - Bill Cosby
  • Life is half spent before we know what it is." - George Herbert
